A Pembroke man has pleaded guilty to breaking the terms of his sexual harm prevention order on four occasions, and his case will now go to the Crown Court for sentencing.
Robert Daye, 67, of South Terrace, Pembroke, admitted all four breaches when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court.
The home visit
On 24 September this year, police officers and an offender management officer called at Daye’s home. He didn’t let them straight in. Instead he asked for time to get dressed, which worried the officers.
Once inside, they found he had broken the order in several ways.
The breaches
Swansea Crown Court made the sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) against Daye on 25 August 2022. He admitted breaching it by:
- not telling officers he had bought a device that could access the internet
- getting rid of internet-enabled devices without telling officers or letting them inspect the devices
- browsing the internet under the alias ‘Claire18F’
- using a social media account or internet profile that he didn’t hand over when police asked for it
All four breaches were dated 24 September.
What happens next
Magistrates sent the case to Swansea Crown Court for sentencing. At the hearing, Daye was released on unconditional bail until then.
