Barry shoplifter jailed after Boots and Tesco thefts

Hannah Hyde, 39, admitted stealing £153 of goods from two Barry stores within a month of each other. Cardiff magistrates jailed her for 24 weeks after activating a suspended sentence imposed for similar offending.

Liam Evans, 35, of Pontypool, has been jailed for 12 weeks after admitting assault by beating in Bridgend. Magistrates also imposed a restraining order protecting his victim until July 2027.

Lewis Jones, 35, of no fixed abode, admitted five frauds, a theft and criminal damage committed across Barry and Cardiff. He was jailed for 10 weeks at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court and ordered to pay £150 in compensation.
