A court has handed down a contingent destruction order after a Pembroke Dock woman was convicted of keeping a banned breed.

Twenty-six-year-old Elisha Callen, from Glenview Avenue, was found in possession of an XL Bully named Dutchess in the town on July 25 last year.

Despite denying the charge of possessing a fighting dog, magistrates at Haverfordwest found her guilty in her absence on November 6.

When the case returned to court on January 22, officials issued a contingent destruction order – meaning Dutchess faces being put down unless kept under strict control measures.

Callen was ordered to pay a £120 fine alongside £100 in prosecution costs.
