Barry man admits making indecent images of children

A 23-year-old from Barry is due to be sentenced next month after admitting offences involving 57 indecent images of children.

Kyron Knight, of Gladstone Road, indicated guilty pleas to three charges when he appeared before Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

The images

The offences relate to the making of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children over a period of more than a year, between September 23, 2024 and November 11, 2025.

The images were broken down as follows:

  • 25 in category A, the most serious classification
  • 7 in category B
  • 25 in category C

Bail and registration

Knight was released on conditional bail. He has also been placed under an interim notification requirement, which means he must register with police until the case is concluded.

Under the terms of his bail, he must:

  • not stay overnight at any address where a child under 18 lives
  • not have unsupervised contact with children
  • follow restrictions on his use of internet-enabled devices
  • hand over his electronic devices for police inspection whenever asked

Sentencing

Magistrates have ordered an all-options pre-sentence report to be prepared before his sentence is decided.

Knight is due to return to Cardiff Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Wednesday, November 11.
