A teaching assistant has been suspended from the profession for 12 months after a panel found she grabbed a young boy and dragged him into a classroom when he was too hesitant to enter.

The Welsh Government is expanding eligibility for the Education Maintenance Allowance from September 2026, with raised income thresholds meaning more 16- to 18-year-olds can claim the £40 weekly payment.
