Two men who attacked three addresses with fire in a single morning across Glyncoch and Caerphilly have each been jailed for nine years and nine months.

Yasin Hussain, 18, and Adam Taylor-Morris, 19, both of no fixed abode, were sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court after a South Wales Police investigation. At an earlier hearing, each had admitted:

  • Three counts of arson with intent to endanger life

Driven from Scotland

The pair arrived in south Wales on the day of the attacks. Taylor-Morris’s sister, Danni Taylor, had driven them down from Scotland.

Porcher Avenue, Glyncoch

At about 4am on Monday, June 1, 2026, a brick smashed through the living room window of a house on Porcher Avenue and woke the family inside. A Molotov cocktail was then aimed at the broken window, but it failed to go through and shattered on the ground outside. Hussain and Taylor-Morris ran off.

Wallis Drive, Caerphilly

The two men took a taxi to the Caerphilly area. At around 7am, a brick was thrown through the window of an address on Wallis Drive, and a glass bottle filled with petrol came next. It caught fire as it hit, but the blaze was put out quickly.

Pearson Crescent, Glyncoch

A second taxi took them back to Glyncoch. At roughly 9am they were seen hanging around near an address on Pearson Crescent for several minutes before going up to it. While Taylor-Morris filmed on his phone, Hussain put a Molotov cocktail through the open living room window, and the room went up in flames.

What police said

Detective Constable Connor Michael said:

“These were deliberate and dangerous arson attacks which could’ve had devastating consequences, including serious injury or loss of life.

“The sentences handed down reflect the severity of the offenders’ actions, and we hope they serve as a warning that such reckless behaviour will not be tolerated. We would also like to thank Police Scotland and Gwent Police for their assistance throughout the investigation.”

Third defendant awaits sentence

Danni Taylor, 24, from Perth and Kinross, has pleaded guilty to participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group. She will be sentenced at a later date.
