Two drug dealers who made £306,000 from cocaine and cannabis supply in Newport and the Gwent Valleys have been ordered to repay less than £17,000 at a proceeds of crime hearing – with one told to pay back just £1.

Alfie Phillips, 26, of Victoria Avenue, Newport, was sentenced to five years and 219 days at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting his involvement in supplying heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine.

Corey Eaves, 28, of Gilfach Goch, was sentenced to 16 months in prison after stealing a car and leading police on a dangerous pursuit through Tonyrefail at four times the speed limit.

Kyle Plummer, 32, received an extended sentence at Cardiff Crown Court after being found guilty of rape following a three-day trial.

A 39-year-old Tredegar man has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years after a gang smashed their way into a family home in Ebbw Vale, forcing a mother and her three children to barricade themselves in a bedroom. The gang had targeted the wrong address.

Richard McLoughlin, 51, was sentenced to 21 months at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting affray. He threatened to slit the throats of his neighbours and racially abused them after returning drunk to his Newport house share.

Taylor Blackley, 26, from Langstone, Newport, has been sentenced to 44 months at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting cocaine supply offences – his second conviction for dealing class A drugs.

Joshua Jones, 27, of Rymney, in Cardiff, was sentenced to 54 months at Cardiff Crown Court after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and diamorphine.

Rasheed Jama, 20, of Grangetown, was sentenced to 18 months at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting 11 offences – but was told he could be released “today or soon” given time already served.

Kieran Desmond, 29, of Grangetown, Cardiff, was sentenced to one year and four months at Cardiff Crown Court after police found £2,000 worth of cannabis in a rucksack he threw away while fleeing officers.

Nino Edwards, 27, was handed a suspended sentence at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting to stealing jewellery from a home on Warwick Close in Chepstow.

Jaylin Foley, 19, of Bettws, has been sentenced to three years and 10 months after leading police on a dangerous high-speed pursuit through Newport and crashing into a 17-year-old learner driver.
