David Walsh, 42, of Caerau, admitted raping a woman as she slept and strangling her. A judge ruled him a dangerous offender and imposed an extended sentence at Cardiff Crown Court.

Mark Donovan was caught with crystal meth in Newport and Cardiff before a raid on his Rogerstone home uncovered a range of drugs. He was given a suspended sentence at Cardiff Crown Court.

Royston Vincent, 40, was handed a suspended sentence at Cardiff Crown Court after 279 indecent images of children were found on his devices. Chat logs showed him discussing swapping material with other paedophiles.

Dominic Price, 37, of Llantwit Fardre, told a customer that men from Cardiff would stab him, put him in a van and kill him unless he repaid a drug debt. He was jailed for 27 months at Cardiff Crown Court.

John Price, 49, was caught with 1,200 indecent images of children and told undercover officers he wanted to meet a woman and her eight-year-old niece. He was given a suspended sentence at Cardiff Crown Court.

Basher Ali Tareb, 20, told officers “Don’t tell my dad” when they arrived at his Butetown home after child abuse images were uploaded to a Snapchat account in his name.

Stephen Holden, 58, threatened to kill his neighbour while holding an axe, then set fire to his own council house two days after being discharged from hospital.

Jennifer Pritchard, 47, of Tredegar, ran a page called Jen’s Justice falsely branding her serving police officer ex-husband a rapist and baby killer. Cardiff Crown Court jailed her for 18 months and imposed an indefinite restraining order.

Radiet Meles, 35, was unanimously convicted of rape and assault by beating at Cardiff Crown Court, seven years after he was jailed for attempting to rape an unconscious woman at a Newport house party. He will be sentenced on November 20.

Mark Curle, 26, told a judge he did not want his sentencing delayed for a probation report, and was jailed for two years and three months for cocaine supply.

Christian Ambrosen, 36, strangled, headbutted and bit his former partner and threatened to kill her and her young son. He was on licence at the time and has been jailed for two years and nine months.

Stephen Jones, 55, was sentenced to five years and three months at Cardiff Crown Court after a jury convicted him of rape and assault by penetration in July.
