A 21-year-old man from Chepstow has been banned from driving for 12 months. Roads Policing officers had spotted the vehicle being drifted around a roundabout beside a primary school.

He has also been given a community order that includes 100 hours of unpaid work.

What officers saw

The incident happened in the Thornwell area in August 2026. Gwent Police shared details of the vehicle at the time, after its Roads Policing officers saw it drifting around the roundabout next to the school.

The offences

The driver was reported to court and pleaded guilty to both of the offences he faced:

  • Dangerous driving
  • Driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition

Sentence

The court imposed:

  • A 12-month driving disqualification
  • A community order, including 100 hours of unpaid work

Police appeal

Gwent Police is asking people to keep reporting dangerous driving. The force said it hopes its recent posts show it treats this kind of behaviour seriously and is actively tracking down and prosecuting drivers who break the law.
