A Blackwood teenager has been sentenced after admitting to possessing more than 100 indecent images of children.
Charlie Trickett, 18, of Cwm Braenar, Pontllanfraith, appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where he was handed an 18-month community order.
The court heard Trickett pleaded guilty to three charges of possessing indecent images of children. His collection included 68 category A images – the most serious classification – along with 33 category B images and 16 category C images.
The offences took place between April 30, 2023 and March 4, 2025.
As part of his sentence, Trickett must complete 120 hours of unpaid work and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement. He was also made subject to a 12-month mental health treatment requirement, which will see him work with a medical practitioner or psychologist.
Trickett will be required to register as a sex offender for five years. He must also pay a £114 surcharge and £85 costs.
