A 62-year-old man being held on remand at HMP Parc in Bridgend has pleaded guilty to an extreme pornography offence involving animals. His case will now go to Swansea Crown Court for sentence.

The plea

John Walters admitted before magistrates a charge of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

The offence was committed in Pembrokeshire at some point between June 29 and July 7, 2026.

The charge

Under the wording of the charge, the material Walters admitted having:

  • showed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sex with animals
  • was grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise obscene in character
  • would lead a reasonable person viewing it to believe that the person or animal shown was real

Other matters

The court was told that Walters is already on remand and waiting to be sentenced at crown court for similar matters.

What happens next

The bench did not sentence him. Instead, magistrates adjourned the case so it can be dealt with at Swansea Crown Court on Friday, November 6, alongside the outstanding matters.

Walters was remanded into custody until that hearing.
