Gwent Police have named a woman who died following an incident at a residential address in Caldicot as Caroline Jones.
Ms Jones, 52 and from Caldicot, was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to a property on Green Lane at approximately 3am on Thursday 4 June. Both police officers and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service attended.
Her family said: “As a family we are devastated by the loss of Caroline and how her life was cut tragically short. We ask for privacy and respect at this difficult time.”
Specialist officers continue to support Caroline’s family.
A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with her death and has since been detained under the Mental Health Act.
The force said enquiries remain ongoing and has urged anyone with information to get in touch by calling 101, sending a direct message on social media, or using the form on the Gwent Police website, quoting log reference 2600174602.
