A 50-year-old from Barry has been sentenced to 29 weeks in prison after ignoring a restraining order on two consecutive days – just two months after it was put in place.

The order and the breaches

Franky Dymott, of Main Street, Barry, was given a restraining order on March 2 prohibiting him from making contact with a woman. Despite this, he contacted the victim by messages and phone calls on May 4, then attended her home in Cardiff the following day.

Sentencing

Cardiff Magistrates’ Court heard the breaches were made worse by the fact Dymott was already subject to both a suspended sentence order and a community order at the time. He was described as having a “flagrant disregard for court orders.”

Dymott admitted two charges of breaching the restraining order and was sentenced to 29 weeks’ imprisonment.
