A 34-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison after he broke into a property and stole a Ford Transit van before crashing the vehicle.
The offences
Byron Evans, of Banna Park Bungalows, Nantyglo, committed the burglary and vehicle theft in the Gurnos area of Merthyr Tydfil. He went on to crash the stolen van.
Sentencing
Evans pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and aggravated vehicle taking when he appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on April 6.
Judge Jeremy Jenkins sentenced him to three years’ imprisonment. Evans was also disqualified from driving for 16 months, to take effect following his release from custody.
