A 20-year-old man from Blaenau Gwent faces sentencing at the crown court after admitting he both created and shared indecent images of children.
The guilty plea
Stephan Evans, of Pennant Street in the Willowtown area of Ebbw Vale, appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to making and distributing indecent films and photographs of children.
What was found
Officers recovered 216 indecent images in total. Of those, 82 fell into category A – the classification reserved for the most serious material of its kind. A further 52 were assessed as category B, with another 82 placed in category C.
The offending period
The offending was not a one-off. It ran across roughly nine months, starting in October 2024 and continuing through to June 2025.
What happens next
Magistrates sent the case up to the crown court, where sentencing is listed for August 28. A pre-sentence report was ordered ahead of that hearing, and Evans was granted unconditional bail until he returns to court.
Following his conviction, he is now required to register as a sex offender.
