A Newport man previously imprisoned for child sex offences is behind bars again after admitting he possessed indecent images of children.
Macauley Webb, 29, appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to making 11 indecent photographs of children across three severity categories. The images included two category A photographs – the most serious classification – along with six category B and three category C images.
Prosecutor Angharad Jones revealed the offences took place over a short period between 24th July and 19th August 2025.
The court heard Webb has previous convictions for similar offences. In 2021, he was jailed for attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child and attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming.
District Judge Sophie Toms remanded Webb in custody ahead of his sentencing hearing at the crown court, scheduled for 13th February. Defence solicitor Paul Morris represented the defendant during the proceedings.
