A registered sex offender has admitted to possessing hundreds of indecent images of children and extreme pornography, just days after being handed a sexual harm prevention order.
The order
Leof Sceaga, 57, from Cardigan, was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on 4 November last year.
Within days of the order being imposed, Sceaga is said to have breached its terms along with the notification requirements of the sex offender register.
The breaches
Between 10 November and 7 December, Sceaga had a device capable of connecting to the internet which he had not registered with police. He also failed to notify officers of a bank account he held.
The images ⚖️
Sceaga faced three charges of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing extreme pornography, covering a period between 20 October 2024 and 9 May last year.
The charges related to 232 Category A images – the most serious classification – along with 331 Category B and 269 Category C images. He also had an extreme pornographic image depicting bestiality.
A further charge of making indecent photographs of children related to two Category C images from between 8 and 13 December last year.
Guilty pleas
Sceaga pleaded guilty to all seven charges at Swansea Crown Court. He was remanded into custody and will return to court to be sentenced on Thursday, 26 February.
