Newport paedophile admits child sex offences

Joshua Camplin, 32, of Chepstow Road, Newport, has been remanded in custody after admitting a series of child sex offences at Cardiff Crown Court.

The charges

Camplin pleaded guilty to attempting to arrange or facilitate the commission of a child sex offence, attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and two counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

The court heard that the offences took place between January 26 and March 3.

What happens next

Judge Daniel Williams adjourned sentencing to May 12 to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Kathryn Lane appeared for the prosecution and Darren Bishop for the defence.
