A 41-year-old man from Newport has pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child under the age of 16.
Shane Thomas, of Mountbatten Close, appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court where he entered his plea to the charge.
The offence
The court heard the offence took place between April 25 and May 4.
Next steps
The case has been committed to the crown court, where Thomas is due to be sentenced on June 2. He was granted conditional bail in the meantime.
