Joshua Brain, 19, of Harrow Road, Newport, has been ordered to register as a sex offender at Newport Central police station after admitting to possessing hundreds of indecent images of children.
Brain entered guilty pleas at Newport Magistrates’ Court to charges of possessing category A, B, and C indecent images of children. Category A represents the most serious classification.
The offences covered a period of more than six years, between January 1, 2018 and August 4, 2024.
His case has been committed to the crown court, where he is due to be sentenced on June 26. A pre-sentence report is being prepared ahead of the hearing.
Brain was released on conditional bail.
