A 30-year-old man has been sent to prison after spitting at police officers, urinating on purpose inside a police vehicle and damaging a custody cell.

Dylan Parry Jones, of no fixed abode, was handed a jail term totalling 26 weeks.

What happened

The 30-year-old spat at officers and deliberately relieved himself inside a police vehicle. Once he was in police custody, he went on to cause damage to a cell.

The offences

Appearing before Llandudno Magistrates’ Court, Dylan Parry Jones pleaded guilty to four offences:

  • Assaulting a police constable
  • Resisting a constable in the execution of their duty
  • Two counts of criminal damage

Sentencing

He was already subject to a suspended sentence for earlier offending. His latest behaviour triggered that sentence, and he was jailed for a total of 26 weeks.

Police response

District Inspector Iwan Jones, of North Wales Police, said: “Any abuse directed towards emergency workers is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

“Our officers come to work each day to keep the public safe, and they deserve to carry out their duties without fear of assault.

“We will continue to take robust action against anyone who threatens the safety of our officers or the wider community.”
