A 47-year-old man from Llanhilleth has admitted possessing more than 300 prohibited images of a child.
The charge
Dean Smith, of Meadow Street, appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place on May 9 last year.
The charge relates to 309 indecent images of a child found in his possession.
Next steps
Smith’s case was adjourned to Monday, May 19, to allow for a pre-sentence report to be prepared ahead of sentencing.
He was released on unconditional bail in the meantime.
