A man who ignored a court order banning him from contacting his former partner, then blocked her car on a narrow lane and shouted threats at her, has been sent to prison.
Daniel Davies, 40, received a 22-month prison sentence when he appeared at Swansea Crown Court on 22 October 2026.
Davies, who lives at Spring Valley Lakes in Resolven, had admitted two offences:
- Breaching a restraining order
- Driving a motor vehicle dangerously
Confrontation on a narrow lane
The most serious episode took place on the morning of 8 September 2026. Davies was spotted sitting in a car outside the woman’s home in Ammanford.
When she drove by, he sounded his horn and set off after her, driving erratically. On a narrow lane he pulled past her and stopped his car in her path, leaving her unable to continue.
He then got out and shouted threats. He struck the side window, jumped on to the bonnet and tried to damage the windscreen.
The woman managed to reverse and get away from the scene, and she then reported what had happened to Dyfed-Powys Police.
Calls, texts and voicemails
That confrontation came at the end of two days of unwanted contact. Over 7 and 8 September, Davies repeatedly tried to phone his ex-partner and sent her text messages and voicemails, many of them containing threats.
All of this happened while a restraining order was in force. It had been imposed in March 2026 and expressly barred him from contacting her.
Arrest and charge
Officers arrested Davies on 14 September 2026, and he was charged the following day.
What police said
PC Aaron Jones, of Carmarthenshire Local Investigation Unit, said:
“Davies was issued with a restraining order in March this year, which included clear instruction that he was not permitted to contact his ex-partner. He chose to completely disregard this order and subjected the victim to this terrifying ordeal.
“I would like to commend the victim’s courage for reporting Davies to us. Her account greatly assisted us in apprehending Davies and bringing him to court.
“Davies’s sentence demonstrates the seriousness of breaching a restraining order, and highlights our commitment to relentlessly pursuing offenders who subject women and girls to threats of violence.”
