The family of a 67-year-old motorcyclist who lost his life following a collision on the Llŷn Peninsula have released a heartfelt tribute to him.

Roger Hawcroft, from Botwnnog, died after a collision involving a red VW Polo and a black Yamaha motorcycle on the B4413 in Mynytho at around 3pm on Saturday 25 April.

Tribute

In a tribute, his family said:

“Dad died doing what he loved, in the place he loved, with the sun on his face and the sea by his side.

“As devastatingly sad as we are, he wouldn’t have wanted it to be any different and neither would we.

“We know how many people were there to help him on the day, both professional and not, and we want you to not only know how thankful we are, but that we are peaceful, and we wish nothing but the same for every single other person that was involved.

“Our wonderful mum is praying for you and always will be.”

Appeal for witnesses

North Wales Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers quoting reference 26000326787.
