A landlord from Bargoed has been hit with a bill of more than £3,000 after being found guilty of unlawfully collecting rent on properties he was not licensed to let out.
Paul Frederick Jones was convicted at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court of illegally gathering rent at three addresses on Commercial Street, Bargoed, during June last year.
Jones, of Commercial Street, Bargoed, did not attend court and was found guilty in his absence.
He was ordered to pay a total of £3,012, covering fines, costs and a surcharge.
