A Newport landlord has been hit with a bill of more than £900 after being convicted of unlawfully taking rent payments at a property he was not licensed to let.
Stuart Maskell, who lives on Grosmont Way in the city, was found guilty in his absence at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court of illegally collecting rent at a property on Sullivan Circle, Newport, last July.
Magistrates ordered Maskell to pay a total of £908, made up of a £440 fine, £292 in costs and a £176 surcharge.
