An Abergavenny man has been imprisoned after making a disturbing emergency call where he claimed to have committed murder and threatened further violence.

Bradley Meredith, 24, from Llanfoist, received a 32-week sentence after pleading guilty to making a grossly offensive and menacing 999 call on January 14.

The court heard that this offence breached a suspended sentence from April, which he received for possessing a kitchen knife at the Goytre Arms pub in Penperlleni last February.

The defendant, of Ffordd Sain Ffwyst, was also ordered to pay £85 in costs at Newport Magistrates’ Court. ⚖️
