A 25-year-old man has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty to possessing 100 indecent images of children and breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
The guilty pleas
Jake James, of Caerphilly Road, Ystrad Mynach, appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where he admitted making indecent images of children across all three categories of severity.
The charges included 29 images at category A – the most serious kind involving rape – along with 41 at category B and 30 at category C.
Breaching his order
The court heard that James had been made subject to a sexual harm prevention order last May, but went on to breach it.
His offending took place between May 1, 2025 and August 30, 2025.
Sentencing
The case has been committed to the crown court, where James is due to be sentenced on May 18.
He was remanded in custody ahead of that hearing.
