Two Men Arrested in Major Caerphilly Drug Raids

Officers have arrested two men following a series of early-morning raids at five addresses across the Caerphilly area this morning. 🚨

A team of more than 40 officers executed warrants at properties in Shingrig Road (Nelson), Wernddu Row (Caerphilly), Heol Aneurin (Penyrheol), Richmond Close (Llanbradach), and Senghenydd.

During the operation, officers recovered drugs, a large quantity of cash, mobile phones and weighing scales after searching both properties and vehicles.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of class B drug – other.

A 56-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug of class A – cocaine, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, and concealing/disguising/converting/transferring/removing criminal property.

Both men, from the Caerphilly area, remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

PC Callum Evans, neighbourhood enforcement for Caerphilly South, said: “We hope today’s warrants, as part of Operation Elston, show that input from residents makes a difference, so please continue to report your concerns to us.

“We welcome information we receive from the public because it provides a significant insight to what is happening first hand in our communities.

“Illegal drugs fill our communities with misery, suffering and fear and those involved prey upon the vulnerable in our society. Criminals only care about the profits they make.”
