A drug dealer from Neath Port Talbot has been sentenced to 45 months in prison after admitting his involvement in the supply of cocaine.

Marcus Howell, 35, of Sandfields, entered guilty pleas on May 5 to four charges – being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of cocaine, attempting to possess with intent to supply amphetamine, and possession of criminal property.

The warrant

Howell’s offending came to light when police executed a warrant at his address, acting on intelligence linking him to drug supply. During the search, officers recovered cash, a mobile phone, quantities of controlled drugs, and bladed articles.

Forensic testing confirmed the substances were cocaine and amphetamine.

Police response

Detective Sergeant Samuel Stanway of South Wales Police said: “Marcus Howell involved himself in the supply of Class A drugs to get rich quick, and turned a blind eye to the dangers these drugs pose to anyone who consumes them.

“There are far too many people like Marcus who have turned to Class A drugs as what they see is the easy route to financial riches. It is in fact, as Marcus Howell has now found out, an even easier route to book yourself a stay in prison.”
