A 35-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sexual offences across Swansea and Merthyr Tydfil.

Nicholas O’Connor, of Cwmrhydyceirw, appeared at Swansea Crown Court on Thursday (December 18) where he was sentenced for 12 sexual offences committed between September 21 and October 23, 2024.

The court heard that O’Connor exposed himself to nine different women across the two areas. He also sexually assaulted two of these women and attempted to sexually assault one of them.

O’Connor was found guilty of:

  • Seven counts of exposure
  • Four counts of sexual assault
  • One count of attempted sexual assault

Despite pleading not guilty, O’Connor was convicted of all charges following a trial at Swansea Crown Court.

Detective Constable Rebecca Brain said: “I would like to say thank you to all of the victims who came forward and reported O’Connor’s actions to us. Each report has helped to demonstrate a serious pattern of offending, which has resulted in today’s sentence.

“O’Connor tried to blame his actions on a medical condition and refused to take accountability for his predatory actions. I hope his sentencing today helps the victims to move forward.”
