A 33-year-old man from Cardiff has been charged with kidnap and sexual touching following an incident involving an 18-year-old woman.
The incident took place at around 18:30 GMT on Saturday near the junction of Clos Nant Mwlan and Heol Pontprennau, in the Pontprennau area of Cardiff.
South Wales Police confirmed the man was arrested just hours after the incident occurred. He remained in custody and was due to appear before Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Officers had earlier issued an appeal to trace a woman in a black car who had stepped in during the incident, thanking her for her actions and urging her to get in touch with the force.
Det Insp Parsons sought to reassure the local community, saying: “Incidents such as this one are extremely rare and I would like to reassure people that we have arrested a suspect who is in police custody.”
