Gwent Police have confirmed that an off-road bike will be destroyed after it was seized during patrols in the Caerphilly area. 🚔
The operation followed complaints from residents about off-road bikes tearing up grass at Mornington Meadows. Officers identified one of the bikes in nearby Lansbury Park, where the rider was stopped and the vehicle confiscated due to having no insurance.
The force said the bike will now be destroyed.
Gwent Police acknowledged the effect that illegal off-road riding has on local communities, citing both damage to public spaces and the danger posed to others.
“We will continue to take action against those using vehicles illegally,” the force said.
Anyone who spots off-road bikes being used illegally is urged to contact Gwent Police on 101.
