A 30-year-old man from Cardiff has been charged with manslaughter after a man died following an assault in Ebbw Vale.
Gwent Police said officers were called to The Picture House in Bethcar Street, Ebbw Vale, following reports of an assault outside the pub between 11.30pm on Friday 20 February and 12.15am on Saturday 21 February.
Marcus Lee Carpenter, 37, from Tredegar, had been in a life-threatening condition in hospital before later dying from his injuries.
The man charged has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Newport Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 26 February.
Mr Carpenter’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
