Abergavenny man admits child abuse image offences

A paedophile has been caught with vile child sex abuse photographs and videos.

Mark Westbrook, 59, from Abergavenny, admitted making category A indecent images of children – the most serious kind. He had eight such images, Newport Magistrates’ Court was told.

The defendant also pleaded guilty to making two category B indecent images of children and two category C indecent images of children.

Westbrook’s offending took place in Abergavenny between 30th May and 25th June.

The case was adjourned to 12th December so that a pre-sentence report could be prepared. He was granted conditional bail.

Westbrook, formerly of Gwent Road, Llantilio Pertholey, and now living in Blackwood, will have to register as a sex offender with police.
