A 28-year-old man has admitted possessing over 1,000 indecent images of children alongside extreme pornographic material involving an animal.
Sean Hart, of Cardiff Road, Caerphilly, entered guilty pleas at Newport Magistrates’ Court to five offences in total.
The images
Hart’s collection of child abuse material spanned all three categories of severity. He had 301 images at category A – the most serious classification – along with 409 at category B and 420 at category C.
He also admitted possessing an extreme pornographic image depicting a woman engaged in a sexual act with a dog.
The charges
Hart pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, one count of possession of a prohibited image of a child, and one count of possession of an extreme pornographic image.
His offending took place between February 6, 2020 and June 17, 2025.
Next steps
The case has been committed to the crown court, where Hart is due to be sentenced on May 15.
He was ordered to register as a sex offender and was granted unconditional bail.
