A 19-year-old who was hiding his cocaine supply inside a chocolate egg capsule has been sent to a young offender institution for two years and four months.

Corey Sutton, of Tonyrefail, was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday, 8 July.

The roadside stop
Officers were on mobile patrol in Tonyrefail when they came across a car already known to them in connection with drug dealing. Sutton was spoken to and then searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Inside a Kinder Egg, officers uncovered a collection of small bags containing cocaine.

What his phone revealed
A subsequent examination of Sutton’s mobile turned up a substantial number of messages linking him to the supply of Class A drugs.

The charges and sentence
Sutton was found guilty of being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply cocaine, and possession of cocaine. The court handed him a detention term of two years and four months.

Police reaction
PC Adam Lewis said: “Corey Sutton was caught in the act while trying to sell his drugs onto the streets of Rhondda.”

He added: “Our officers will find you and you will go to prison.”
