A motorbike has been taken off the road in Blackwood after officers found it was not legally allowed to be ridden.
What happened
The Caerphilly Central neighbourhood policing team seized the bike on Wednesday (16 September), Gwent Police said.
Officers used Section 165 powers to remove it after establishing that the legal requirements for using it on the road had not been met. The force has not said which requirement was breached.
The powers
Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 allows police to seize a vehicle where they believe it is being driven without insurance or by someone without a valid licence.
Force’s message
Gwent Police said the seizure was part of ongoing work against vehicles being used unlawfully in the area, and that officers would carry on targeting them to keep local roads safe.
