A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences after Gwent Police officers carried out a warrant at an address in Coed Eva, Cwmbran, early on Tuesday 6 October.
The operation was led by neighbourhood officers investigating the sale and supply of class A drugs across Torfaen.
The arrest
The teenager, who is from Cwmbran, was detained on suspicion of three offences:
- being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and cannabis
- possession of crack cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply
- possession of criminal property
When the force shared details on Tuesday, it said he was still being held in police custody while enquiries continued.
What officers found
Officers searched the property and seized suspected crack cocaine, cannabis, cash, mobile phones and an electric bike.
Appeal for information
Sergeant Jason Ghalamkary, of Gwent Police’s neighbourhood team in Cwmbran, said information from the public was vital to tackling drugs in Torfaen. He urged residents to keep reporting their concerns.
He said: “Intelligence we receive from the public is paramount as we combat the production, sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Torfaen area.
“We hope this morning’s warrant shows that input from the community really does make a difference, so please continue to report your concerns and information to us.
“Illegal drugs fill our communities with misery, suffering and fear and those involved prey upon the vulnerable in our society.
