A motorbike rider who sped past a marked police vehicle and then overtook a line of four cars has had their bike taken off them by Gwent Police.
How it started
The bike first stood out to officers because of how fast it was going through the Caerphilly area. Unaware there was a marked police vehicle right behind them, the rider went on to pass four cars in one manoeuvre, again well over the limit, and continued riding in a way that showed little thought for anyone else on the road.
The stop
Officers pulled the motorbike over and the rider was reported for dangerous riding and for excess speed.
Seized
The force also used its powers under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 – which allow officers to seize a vehicle being used in an anti-social or careless manner – to take the motorbike away. That left the rider with one option for getting home: on foot.
