South Wales Police’s Port Talbot Neighbourhood Policing Team executed two drug warrants last week, uncovering significant quantities of illegal substances.
Officers first targeted an address in Abergwynfi, where cannabis grows were discovered in three bedrooms. Signs of a previous nursery were also found in the attic. A total of 40kg of cannabis plants were seized for destruction.
The second warrant, carried out at a property in Baglan on Friday, resulted in the recovery of 1.5kg of suspected ketamine along with a quantity of cocaine.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs: a 45-year-old man from Baglan and a 36-year-old man from Sandfields, Neath Port Talbot.
Inspector Jared Easton said: “Drug dealers blight our communities and we will never tolerate when Class A and B drugs are illegally grown or dealt in our area like this. These drugs have a harmful impact on everyone in the supply chain, and their suppliers often have links to organised crime. Our officers continue to work to disrupt these illegal activities and keep our communities safe from those who work to harm them.”
