A man was arrested in Newport after officers who searched him found what they believe to be drugs, along with a quantity of cash.
The arrest was made by Gwent Police’s Community Action Team while on patrol across the city as part of Operation Krypton, an ongoing effort aimed at cutting crime and anti-social behaviour in Newport.
When the force shared details on Tuesday, it said the man was still in police custody and that enquiries were continuing.
Gwent Police said: “These results demonstrate the importance of proactive policing and our commitment to keeping Newport’s communities safe.”
The force added that anyone who spots its teams around Newport is welcome to stop and have a chat with them.
