A person is in custody after plain clothes officers stopped and searched them in Newport, recovering suspected drugs and a Sur-Ron electric motorbike.
The stop was carried out by Gwent Police’s Community Action Team under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act during a proactive operation in the city.
The suspected drugs and the bike were both seized at the scene. The individual was arrested in connection with a number of offences and remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Gwent Police said the operation was part of its wider work to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs and target criminality in local communities.
Anyone with information about drug dealing in their area can contact the force on 101 or online, or report it anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
