Gwent Police have conducted a significant operation in Newport, leading to the arrest of four individuals following a series of warrants executed on Monday 25 November.
The operation, targeting a suspected drug supply gang operating across Newport and Torfaen, involved multiple specialist teams including the serious and organised crime unit, Newport east neighbourhood policing team and roads policing officers.
At the first address, officers seized more than £13,000 in cash and cannabis, resulting in two arrests. A 30-year-old man remains in custody on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A controlled drugs and possession of criminal property, whilst a 28-year-old woman was released under investigation after being arrested for possession of criminal property.
The second raid yielded over £5,000 in cash, with officers discovering multiple bags of suspected cocaine in a van outside the property. A 26-year-old man was arrested and remains in custody on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A controlled drugs and possession of criminal property. A 26-year-old woman was also arrested for possession of criminal property and later released under investigation.
