A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after brandishing a machete at three boys in Aberavon earlier this year. ⚖️

James Driver, from Caewern in Neath Port Talbot, threatened the boys with the weapon on January 22, causing them to flee before he sped away on a motorbike.

Officers later conducted a search of Driver’s address where they discovered the machete. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article.

Driver has now been sentenced to sixteen months in prison for affray, possession of a bladed article and dangerous driving.

PC Lincoln Burrow said: “James Driver’s behaviour for all three of his offences was unacceptable. Threatening and intimidating behaviour such as that he has displayed will not be tolerated.

“We hope that James will use his time in prison to think hard about his actions and change his ways.”
