A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to four weeks in prison after he was caught breaking a legal order banning him from part of Bridgend town centre.

Nigel Edwards, from Bridgend, was convicted of breaching a Section 35 dispersal order that had been put in place to keep him away from the bus station area on Sunday, 8 February.

The Bridgend Safer Neighbourhood Team, who have been carrying out ongoing work to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town centre, secured the conviction as part of their continued crackdown.

South Wales Police said: “Our new safer neighbourhood teams have a zero-tolerance approach to ASB in our towns. ASB legislation will be used to make our communities safer.”
