Brynmawr Woman Jailed for Four Police Officer Assaults

A Brynmawr woman has been sentenced to 32 weeks in prison after assaulting four police officers in separate incidents in Abertillery last month. 👮‍♀️⚖️

Alison Sanders, 49, of Heol Derw, appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where she admitted to assault by beating of an emergency worker against PCs Joseph Thorne, Matt Niles and Craig Stinton on April 5.

In a second incident on April 22, Sanders also admitted to assault by beating of an emergency worker and racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress.

During the court proceedings, it was stated that Sanders has “a flagrant disregard for court orders.”

District Judge Sophie Toms sentenced Sanders to 32 weeks imprisonment and ordered her to pay £100 compensation to each of her victims.
