A 39-year-old Tredegar man has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years after a gang smashed their way into a family home in Ebbw Vale, forcing a mother and her three children to barricade themselves in a bedroom. The gang had targeted the wrong address.

Richard McLoughlin, 51, was sentenced to 21 months at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting affray. He threatened to slit the throats of his neighbours and racially abused them after returning drunk to his Newport house share.

Taylor Blackley, 26, from Langstone, Newport, has been sentenced to 44 months at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting cocaine supply offences – his second conviction for dealing class A drugs.

Tyrell Eason, 21, handed his iPhone to officers during a traffic stop on Boxing Day – only for cocaine orders to start appearing on screen. He was given a suspended sentence at Cardiff Crown Court.

Sean Hart, 28, of Cardiff Road, Caerphilly, received a suspended sentence at Cardiff Crown Court after admitting to possessing more than 1,000 indecent images of children and extreme pornographic material.

Mark Hagland, 54, and Tracy Williams, 39, have been sentenced to 18 and 16 months’ imprisonment respectively after assaulting a man at a property in Pontprennau, leaving him with multiple rib fractures.

Lee Brown, 45, of Barry, has been sentenced to three years and four months after admitting to running a fraudulent building business that took tens of thousands of pounds in deposits from customers without completing any work.
