Woman banned from driving after doing 41mph in 20mph zone

A driver caught travelling at more than double the speed limit through a 20mph zone has been hit with a fine exceeding £1,000 and a short-term road ban.

The offence

Nathalie John, 41, of Ashdale Lane junction, Hill Mountain, Milford Haven, was clocked driving her A5 S Line TDI at 41mph in a 20mph zone in Houghton.

Court outcome

John admitted the charge when she appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 15.

She was fined £693, ordered to pay a £277 victim surcharge and £130 in costs – bringing her total bill to £1,100. John was also disqualified from driving for 21 days.
