A persistent offender has been sent to prison after a week-long stealing spree across Newport shops 🛒⚖️
Raymond Olsen, 39, targeted Boots twice – stealing toiletries worth £50 and goods valued at £94 – before also taking items from Holland & Barrett between 9 and 16 May.
The York Place resident pleaded guilty to three counts of theft at Newport Magistrates’ Court and also admitted breaching a community protection notice which banned him from entering these very stores.
Magistrates sentenced Olsen to six months in prison and ordered him to pay compensation to the affected retailers.
This isn’t Olsen’s first stint behind bars – he was jailed for six months last year after spitting at police officers and shoplifting.
