A Newport woman has admitted causing unnecessary suffering to three bulldogs after failing to provide them with food or water.
Jamila Michaela Diane Fletcher-Oates, who lives on Dart Road in Bettws, appeared before Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court where she pleaded guilty to the animal welfare offence.
The court heard that Fletcher-Oates failed to provide the three bulldogs with food or water for a period of time between March 31 and May 1, 2025.
The case has been adjourned until February 24 to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, which will help magistrates determine an appropriate sentence.
Fletcher-Oates was granted unconditional bail while she awaits sentencing.
The prosecution has been brought by the RSPCA, the animal welfare charity responsible for investigating cases of animal cruelty and neglect across England and Wales.
